Georgia Wright Evaluation Activity 7

Since our preliminary task I feel we have come a long way both as a group and individually.

As we were all a little apprehensive about filming and editing, the continuity task was a great way for us all to ease into film making.

Unfortunately for us, we still managed to break the 180 degree rule despite our understanding of it.

At first we were annoyed that it meant we had to work our way around it and re-shoot, but we soon realised that we weren't ever going to make a film without mistakes and the sooner we learn from them, the sooner we can create a better final product.

We also realised the importance of storyboarding and how crucial it was to know what we were doing, and when we were going to do it. Without a plan, you will just be aimlessly filming, hoping that you will end up with some kind of final product!

I feel we really mastered the idea of continuity within our final piece and watched it meticulously over and over to see if there were any continuity errors. An example of this can be seen here.

It feels like we've come a long way since our first filming session together, it was interesting how our roles in the group came naturally to all of us, each one as important as the next.

I feel we worked really well as a team and our final piece reflects that.

I am really proud of what we managed to create, though for a while it felt as if we had no time to finish it at all.

After all the mistakes we made, and time we spent behind the lense, it was then we learned the most important lesson of all:

ALWAYS use a tripod.
