Distribution Company Research

During our editing of our first draft, we had a hard time to think of a Distribution Company and therefore i decided to research some Distribution Company which could inspire us. i researched the famous 20th Century Fox and Paramount Pictures Corporation, Warner Bros.

1. 20th Century Fox
-One of the six big American film Studios.
-Famous in films such as X-Men, Die Hard, Ice Age etc
-Member of the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America- it represents the six big Hollywood studios)
- The grand feel to the opening gives a warm welcoming to the film. The colours are bright, the use of the spotlights direct our eyes towards the logo and not get distracted by the scenery. This is great to attract the audience.

2. Paramount Pictures Corporation

-Ranked as one of the top-grossing movie studios.
-Member of the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America)
-5th oldest existing film studio
-The stars are diverting our eyes so we are guided towards the logo. The use of parts of the logo joining to the rest of the logo makes the logo as the whole attention grabbing.

3. Warner Bros

-One of the major film studios.
- Member of the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America)
-Shows the close up of the reflection on the logo, emerging into a long shot of the logo as it spins to the middle as it moves out. This makes it ambigiuous at first and gradually reveals. This is great for also grabbing attention and the presentation of the logo.

Filming in progress - nail in my shoe

On the second day of our filming we were on the set filming (Tooting Bec Station). Shooting started at 7:40am and continued till 8:40am.
As we were filming I felt something in my shoe. I took my shoe off and cleared the inside. I assumed it was a stone of some sort. Then I put my shoe back on and I could still feel something digging in to my foot. I took the shoe off again and discovered there was a nail inside my shoe !

Product Research: Panic Room Title Sequence

The title in Panic Room blends well with the scenery of the setting. It creates a sense of power, and makes the opening seem as if it is important.
It has a dominance over everything else in the setting, and is the centre of attention.

This is very amusing, Uncut Production are hoping to do something similar to this, we are currently using Adobe After-Effects on our perlimary task to play around with it, and learn how to use it, so when it comes down to our thriller, we know how to place different types of titles.
